Upright, The Intermission says the house lights are only half up: the thing you walked away from is still playing somewhere behind the curtain. Reversed, you have moved cities, changed desks and told everyone it was over, and the seat beside you is still warm. Reader's note: I pulled this for a man who swore he was done, three floors below the woman he was done with. Do not confuse an interval with an ending.
